A call of full mobilization against COVID-19 in a district hospital involving an innovation electronic TOCC form
The Ministry of Health and Welfare in Taiwan announced on January 15, 2020. "Severe pneumonia with Novel Pathogens" (hereinafter referred to as COVID-19) is the fifth category communicable disease. Since the Central Epidemic Command Center announced our first case of severe pneumonia with Novel Pathogens is an imported case on January 21, 2020. China Medical University Hsinchu Hospital immediately established an epidemic prevention and response team on January 22, with the president as the convener, the vice president of administration is the deputy convener, the director of the infection department is the executive secretary (infection control division under its jurisdiction), and the directors of various medical specialties and the directors of administrative units are team members, who regularly report on the current situation of epidemic prevention in the hospital. In order to ensure the viable and continuous operation of China Medical University Hsinchu Hospital, ensure the safety of patients seeking medical treatment, and the safety of all employees in the workplace, and provide local medical services continuously, our hospital follow the principles of COVID-19 infection control, and set up fever and TOCC screening stations at the limited entrance and exit of the hospital, and log in with the real name system. Considering that TOCC paper-based operations tend to increase the hand contact between patients and staff, which is not conducive to preventing droplets and contact infectious diseases. The initial report shows that we can use electronic tablets for sharing, but sharing electronic tablets can easily increase contact area, and it is difficult to sanitize tablets while the hospital is teeming with patients. After the discussion and resolution from epidemic prevention and response team, an electronic questionnaire was implemented. Therefore, patients and visitors can easily use the smartphones to fill the form, or scan the QR code to quickly fill out the questionnaire to answer questions. This online medical service platform is established on the clinical side and also collect the TOCC questionnaire.
