Postoperative Care Instructions for Outpatient General Anesthesia
Wound Care:
□ Change dressing: times/day
□ No need to change dressing, wait for follow-up (only change if wound is wet or dirty)
*Clean the area around the surgical wound with a warm, damp cloth to remove disinfectant.
*Monitor for bleeding, inflammation, or signs of infection; keep the wound clean and dry.
*Postoperatively, there are no activity restrictions, but avoid vigorous exercise or heavy lifting to aid wound healing.
*Engage in deep breathing and cough exercises, which can help expand the lungs and alleviate wound pain.
□ Wound near the urethral opening: After the first urination, remove the covering gauze. After using the restroom each time, rinse the wound area with boiled and cooled water, then apply ointment.
□ Removal of vaginal gauze for female patients after gynecological surgery:
*Please remove the vaginal gauze by □ AM □ PM □ PM (There might be slight bleeding upon removal; it should recover in a few days, no need to worry).
*During the bleeding period or within 2 weeks after surgery, avoid sexual intercourse, vaginal douching, and vaginal suppositories.
□ After vocal cord surgery, refrain from speaking for 5 days. For the next 2 weeks, avoid loud talking, singing, and excessive talking.
□ Choose cold, soft, or liquid foods, avoid spicy foods, especially refrain from smoking or drinking alcohol.
Meal Times:
□ AM □ PM □ PM :
1 hour after discharge, drink 50-100 c.c of water first, then observe for 5-10 minutes. If there's no nausea or vomiting, you can start eating. In case of mild nausea or vomiting, rest for 30 minutes before drinking water. If there's no discomfort, you can eat.

Home Care Medication Instructions:
Follow the doctor's instructions for using pain relievers, which can effectively manage pain. Do not take any sedatives without the doctor's permission within 24 hours.

□ Proceed to the pharmacy on the 1st floor after payment to collect medication.
□ Oral medication (follow the instructions on the medication package)
□ Topical medication (follow the instructions on the medication package)

Please adhere to the scheduled follow-up appointment given by the doctor. If you don't have an appointment, please make one yourself through the appointment hotline at (03) 5580558 (voice line).
Special Notes:
Seek medical attention immediately if the following occur:
*Severe pain.
*Excessive bleeding, redness, swelling, pus, or wound opening.
*Fever above 38°C.
In adults, the sedative effects might persist up to 12 hours after receiving sedation and pain care:
*Do not ride motorcycles or drive.
*Avoid signing important documents.
*Have someone care for you to prevent accidents.
In children, the sedative effects might persist up to 24 hours after receiving sedation and pain care; assistance is required.
