Patented miraDry® microwave thermal energy focusing technology is used to precisely control the heating of the skin and subcutaneous sweat glands in both larger and smaller areas. It disrupts the sweat glands and incorporates a patented water cooling system to protect the epidermis and prevent burns. miraDry® has obtained FDA certification and is a non-invasive treatment for underarm sweating, eliminating the need for surgery and lengthy recovery periods. It effectively improves issues such as excessive underarm sweating and odor.

Indications:

  • Primary axillary hyperhidrosis (excessive sweating in the armpits).

Contraindications:

  • Individuals with pacemakers or other electronic implants in the heart.
  • Pregnant or breastfeeding women.
  • Individuals with open wounds in the underarm area.
  • Those who have an aversion to local anesthesia.

Treatment Process:

  • Before Treatment:
  1. Have a thorough discussion and consultation with the physician during the outpatient visit to determine the treatment.
  2. Refrain from smoking one week before and after the procedure.
  3. Local anesthesia will be administered, and fasting is not necessary. The treatment takes approximately 1 hour.
  4. On the treatment day, remove all valuable jewelry and refrain from wearing makeup. Check-in at the reception desk of the cosmetic center's operating room.
  5. Wear front-opening clothes for easy dressing after the procedure.
  6. Avoid driving yourself.
  • After Treatment:
  1. Normal bathing, daily activities, and work can be resumed on the same day as the treatment.
  2. Some sensations such as swelling, tightness, tenderness, bruising at the injection site, temporary hair loss in the underarm area, and transient prickling sensations may occur after the treatment. These are normal phenomena. It is recommended to apply cold compresses for 48 hours to alleviate discomfort. Improvement is typically seen within about one week.
  3. If prescribed painkillers and anti-inflammatory medication are provided by the doctor, follow the instructions to reduce redness, swelling, and pain.
  4. Avoid smoking, alcohol, and other irritants after the treatment.
  5. Partial restriction of shoulder movements after the treatment: Do not raise both hands above the shoulders, avoid heavy lifting (approximately 2 weeks), and refrain from pulling bus handrails. Activities involving the lower arm, such as eating, washing the face, and writing, are not restricted.
  6. It is advisable to wear front-button shirts to prevent excessive pressure and keep the underarms dry, avoiding friction and discomfort due to swelling.
  7. Some customers may require a second treatment session.

Q&A:

Q: How long does the miraDry® system's effect last? Will the sweat be transferred to other areas?

A: The miraDry® microwave thermal energy system destroys the sweat glands, resulting in a permanent effect. This is a localized treatment and does not cause compensatory sweating in other areas.

If you experience the following conditions, please seek medical attention as soon as possible (you can go to the emergency room after office hours):

  1. Numbness in the arms lasting for more than 24 hours.
  2. Burns.
