PicoPlus®
PICOPLUS is a newer skin treatment technology that utilizes picosecond laser technology, which has a firing speed thousands of times faster than traditional nanosecond lasers. It employs the "optoacoustic principle" to shatter pigment particles into smaller dust-like particles, making them easier for the body to metabolize. The shorter pulse duration reduces the laser's dwell time on the skin, minimizing heat damage and tissue disruption, making it a safer and more precise tool for skin treatments.
With its rare combination of four wavelengths (532/595/660/1064nm), PICOPLUS can penetrate different depths of the epidermis and dermis, targeting a wider range of skin conditions. It can effectively improve common issues such as pigmentation spots, redness, acne scars, pitted scars, and even challenging full-color tattoos or partially removed tattoos. The multiple wavelengths of PICOPLUS allow for precise and effective treatment of various skin concerns.
The professional 4D focusing lens, also known as the honeycomb technique, is a patented zooming technology of PICOPLUS. It generates a three-stage focusing technique that delivers more concentrated and precise energy to the deep layers of the skin without damaging the epidermis. It stimulates the upper layers of the dermis to induce a bubble-like effect (LIOB), promoting the production of new collagen and improving the overall health and hydration of the skin.
Indications for PICOPLUS treatment include:
- Melanin-related issues
- Wrinkles and texture irregularities
- Tattoos
- Depressed scars
Contraindications:
- Pregnancy, planning to become pregnant, breastfeeding, or sensitivity to light.
- Sunburned skin or inflamed skin with acne.
Postoperative Instructions:
- After treatment, the skin may temporarily feel dry due to the absorption of a significant amount of heat. It is recommended to enhance moisturization and apply cold compresses for 15-20 minutes.
- Some individuals may experience slight redness, mild warmth, itchiness, and localized small bumps on the skin after treatment. This is a normal phenomenon that will gradually fade within a few minutes to 24 hours. If discomfort persists, cold compresses can be applied as needed, or a follow-up appointment can be scheduled for evaluation.
Postoperative Precautions:
- Avoid skin irritation: Within one week after treatment, use a neutral and mild cleanser to clean the face. Avoid activities such as saunas, steam baths, exfoliation, and facial treatments. Do not use irritating products or products containing whitening agents or acids, such as fruit acids, retinoic acid, salicylic acid, kojic acid, high-concentration vitamin C, alcohol, or products with abrasive particles (e.g., temporarily discontinue using SK-II skincare products for one week).
- Moisturization: After undergoing laser treatment, enhancing moisturization can maximize the skin's repair process. It is recommended to use neutral, mild, fragrance-free, and preservative-free moisturizing products.
- Sun protection: Reduce damage from ultraviolet radiation and prevent the loss of collagen. It is advised to choose a sunscreen with a sun protection factor (SPF) of 50 or higher and make use of umbrellas and sun hats for added protection.
- Spot treatment for deep pigmentation or tattoo removal: The treated area may develop a thin, scab-like formation in shades of gray, black, or white. Follow the doctor's instructions to apply topical ointment or use artificial skin to reduce discomfort and promote wound healing.
- Treatment for pigmented lesions and tattoos: Mild swelling and redness may occur after treatment. Apply cold compresses for 15 to 30 minutes. Facial scabs typically fall off naturally within 5 to 7 days, while scabs on the body and limbs take approximately 1 to 2 weeks to naturally detach. When cleaning the treated area, gently wipe it without picking at the scabs. If blisters occur after tattoo removal, do not pop them and seek medical attention.
Treatment Interval:
- Typically, at least three treatments are required (depending on individual circumstances). Subsequent treatments should be spaced at intervals of 4 to 6 weeks.
- Tattoo removal may require multiple treatments due to variations in size, color, location, and ink used. The treatment duration is approximately 6 to 8 weeks, as advised by the doctor.
