Postoperative Date Facial Wound Wounds on the Body and Limbs
1-3 Days 1.Keep the wound dry. Avoid getting the wound wet while washing your face.
2.Use a sterile cotton swab soaked in saline solution to clean the wound. Apply ointment as instructed by your doctor.
3.When going outside, wear a hat or use an umbrella to protect the wound from direct sunlight.
4.If the facial skin tends to be oily, you may not need to use adhesive dressings.
1.Keep the wound dry. Clean the wound with saline solution and apply the ointment.
2.Avoid getting the wound wet during bathing. If it accidentally gets wet, clean it with saline solution and apply the ointment. Cover with sterile gauze afterward.
3.For wounds around joints, avoid excessive movement to prevent disruption of wound healing.
5-7 Days 1.The stitches will be removed around day 5-7.
2.After the stitches are removed, apply a cosmetic adhesive to the wound to prevent excessive scarring.
7 Days - 2 Weeks
  • Continue using the cosmetic adhesive or follow your doctor's instructions to use scar gel.
  • The stitches will be removed around 10-14 days. After the stitches are removed, apply cosmetic adhesive to the wound to prevent excessive scar formation.
2 Weeks - 2 Months 1.Continue using the cosmetic adhesive to promote a soft and less raised scar appearance.
2.Massage the wound regularly to soften the scar.
3.You can also use scar removal gel or silicone sheets.

After the stitches are removed, you can immediately use cosmetic adhesive on the clean, non-exuding wound. Apply the adhesive in a vertical manner. It is recommended to use the adhesive continuously for at least 3 months without the need for daily replacement.

Here are some tips to prevent scar formation:

  • On the 10th day post-surgery, you can apply scar prevention products on a clean and dry wound to avoid scar formation.
  • Gently massage the wound with your fingertips for 2-6 minutes multiple times a day.
  • For individuals prone to allergies, fear, or excessive scar formation, you can use various scar prevention products such as cosmetic adhesive, scar removal gel, or silicone sheets according to personal preference. However, these are supplementary products and should still be based on individual factors and the location of scar formation.
  • Regardless of the scar prevention product used, it is recommended to use them for 3-6 months.
  • Avoid direct sunlight exposure to the wound, as it can darken the scar's color.
