Department Introduction

In the year 2021, China Medical University Hsinchu Hospital passed the Cell Therapy Special Management Measures of the Ministry of Health and Welfare. In May of the same year, the hospital established the Cell Therapy Center and began admitting patients for Dendritic Cell-Cytokine Induced Killer Cell (DC-CIK) therapy to treat solid tumors.

DC-CIK cell therapy involves extracting a patient's own immune cells, culturing, inducing, activating, and expanding them in vitro along with surgically removed tumors. These activated immune cells are then reintroduced into the patient's body to target cancer cells, leading to disease control and an improvement in the patient's overall quality of life.
