Stroke Center

The Stroke Center of China Medical University Hsinchu Hospital was established in 2020, bringing together elite teams from departments including Neurology, Neurosurgery, Emergency Medicine, Radiology, Rehabilitation Medicine, Traditional Chinese Medicine, Nursing, and Nutrition. We provide state-of-the-art medical technology and equipment for the treatment of stroke. Through active interdisciplinary collaboration and the development of specialized treatment plans tailored to the needs of stroke patients, we aim to provide comprehensive care as a holistic stroke care team.
Special Features
Our center aims to develop an integrated medical center, emphasizing team collaboration to provide comprehensive care for stroke patients. We focus on cutting-edge innovative treatments for acute phase hemorrhagic or ischemic strokes, such as intravenous thrombolysis within 3 hours of ischemic stroke onset and intra-arterial thrombectomy for ischemic strokes occurring more than 3 hours after onset, aiming to salvage brain cells and minimize damage. We also offer nationally leading treatments such as transcranial magnetic stimulation, intravenous laser therapy, traditional Chinese medicine, acupuncture, and rehabilitation to reduce brain cell damage and enhance recovery capabilities.
During the subacute phase, we provide proactive vertical integrated care tailored to individual patient disability levels within the therapeutic window, aiming to reduce subsequent rehospitalization costs and significantly alleviate the burden of family and social care. We seamlessly integrate with post-acute care services and provide appropriate follow-up care and consultation to achieve the best stroke care system.
In the chronic phase, we focus on addressing the sequelae of chronic stroke, using techniques such as vascular stent placement or cerebral vascular bypass surgery to increase cerebral blood flow and prevent recurrent ischemic strokes.
Furthermore, we have established integrated care clinics to educate patients on stroke prevention measures such as blood sugar, blood pressure, blood lipid management, smoking cessation, and weight loss. We also monitor the correct use of anticoagulants and antiplatelet agents. Additionally, we organize community stroke prevention activities and collaborate with stroke patient support groups to extend stroke treatment from the acute phase to the preventive phase, saving more patients from stroke and continuously improving the clinical and economic efficiency of stroke care.
Our approach to stroke treatment emphasizes team integration, providing holistic care, and actively incorporating advanced techniques and experiences from abroad to deliver world-class medical services.
