Nephrology

The Nephrology Department at China Medical University Hsinchu Hospital upholds the hospital's patient-centered approach to holistic healthcare. We provide comprehensive care for both acute and chronic kidney diseases, including long-term hemodialysis and peritoneal dialysis treatments, critical care dialysis for acute and severe conditions, as well as outpatient and inpatient services for various kidney-related disorders such as edema, hematuria, proteinuria, hypertension, hyperlipidemia, and diabetes.
Our department comprises physicians who have received comprehensive nephrology training from various medical centers across the country. They are well-equipped with the skills necessary to handle a wide range of kidney-related conditions independently. In addition to medical care, we also provide education and guidance on kidney health and self-care for patients with chronic kidney disease and their families. We regularly hold kidney disease seminars and provide dietary education through nutritionists. From acute treatment to chronic care, rehabilitation, and promoting healthy living, we aim to offer the most comprehensive and holistic kidney care services to the public.
Under the leadership of Dr. Lin Shin-Hung, a senior attending physician with both a medical doctorate and a master's degree in philosophy, our department actively engages in exchanges with medical experts both domestically and internationally. We prioritize empathy in understanding patient needs and explaining their conditions, striving to deliver care of medical center standards while maintaining the warmth and accessibility of a community hospital.
In terms of dialysis treatment, we not only provide traditional but high-quality hemodialysis and peritoneal dialysis therapy, but also assist patients who are interested in receiving home hemodialysis training at the China Medical University Hospital in Taichung, the only facility in Taiwan offering such training. Furthermore, we collaborate with specialists in cardiology and cardiac surgery, general surgery and urology, neurology and rehabilitation, as well as nutritionists and social workers, to provide comprehensive support for dialysis patients, including vascular access care and management of cardiovascular diseases, wound care for peritoneal dialysis catheters, lifestyle rehabilitation, and nutritional counseling.
