Radiation Oncology
The Department of Radiation Oncology was established on March 16, 2018, and treated its first patient on April 1, 2019. Since then, patients can receive treatment nearby without having to endure the hardships of traveling long distances for medical care.
Our department focuses on radiation therapy as its core business and collaborates with related specialties to provide integrated cancer treatment services. We especially emphasize providing convenient external radiation therapy services to fulfill the established mission of the Cancer Center.
Cancer is a common and serious disease in Taiwan, with literature estimating that nearly half of these patients will require radiation therapy. Radiation therapy, much like getting an X-ray, is generally painless during treatment. Most sessions last about ten minutes and are administered once a day, typically over several weeks. Upholding the spirit of serving the local community, China Medical University Hsinchu Hospital has invested heavily in advanced external radiation therapy equipment (TRUEBEAM as shown), and radiation oncology outpatient services are available every weekday. We aim to provide more convenient radiation therapy services to patients in Hsinchu County and City.
Located in the Hsinchu Science Park, our hospital aims to be at the forefront of cancer treatment. In the future, we will continue to develop hyperthermia and adjunctive cancer treatments, ensuring that people in the Hsinchu area have access to world-class medical services.
