Otorhinolaryngology(ENT)
During the groundbreaking ceremony of our hospital, Director Wang Tangquan had already begun preparations for the Otorhinolaryngology Department. When the hospital opened, the Otorhinolaryngology Department outpatient clinics, wards, and operating rooms started operations immediately. In response to the increasing number of outpatient visits and related examinations, we gradually enhanced our medical equipment and team. The department is located on the second floor of the medical building and is equipped with fully functional consultation rooms, endoscopy examination rooms, and hearing examination rooms. We have high-resolution nasal-pharyngeal endoscopes, microcomputer nasal resistance testers, digital electronystagmography at the level of medical centers, balance function examination instruments, and more. As our team continues to grow, we will continue to acquire new equipment to provide better clinical services in otorhinolaryngology for the public.
Revolutionary Minimally Invasive Endoscopic Surgery
Director Wang introduced a new generation of desensitization therapy and biologic agent therapy for refractory sinusitis. The department routinely performs revolutionary minimally invasive endoscopic surgeries, including eustachian tube endoscopic surgery, 3D minimally invasive endoscopic navigation surgery, salivary gland endoscopic surgery, and da Vinci robotic-assisted surgeries.
International Academic Collaboration and Surgical Education
We regularly organize international otorhinolaryngology academic conferences and surgical education sessions. Papers published in international journals and research competitions have received numerous awards. When Taiwan hosted the International Tinnitus Research Conference, internationally renowned scholars Richard J. Salvi and Professor Richard S. Tyler visited Director Wang, and joint research projects were conducted with China Medical University, National Yang Ming Chiao Tung University, and National Tsing Hua University. Director Wang was also invited to serve as a member of the organizing committee and keynote speaker at international otorhinolaryngology conferences, continuing to promote exchanges and cooperation between Taiwan and the international community.
Biomedical Innovation and Telemedicine
We collaborate with the Industrial Technology Research Institute, the Metal Industries Research and Development Centre, and the Hsinchu Science Park on various biomedical engineering projects and plan to establish an "Innovative Medical Equipment and Medical Information Center," dedicated to promoting artificial intelligence in healthcare and the Internet of Things. Adhering to the principles of public health and preventive medicine, Director Wang not only established telemedicine services in remote areas but also provided high-quality intelligent telecare for patients domestically and internationally during the COVID-19 pandemic.
