王堂權醫師曾任美國哈佛大學醫學院附屬醫院耳鼻喉頭頸外科研究學者及美國愛荷華大學聽語溝通障礙學系研究學者，是一位在臨床、教學、研究三方面都兼具的優秀醫師。對於耳鼻喉頭頸外科的相關手術十分專精，在研究方面也非常卓越，發表的國際期刊論文曾獲頒美國外科醫學會的年度優秀論文獎。此外，也持續研發新創醫材與技術，希望讓台灣在全球生技產業上能夠占有一席之地。
